· Choose between 1/2 or a whole hog
· We schedule processing and drop the live animal off at the processor
· You let the processor know how you would like your meat cut and packaged—they will help walk you through this
· Price is $2.25/lb hanging weight (as determined by the processor). This cost is paid directly to us.
· You pay the processor separately for the processing. Processing is around $0.70 per pound of hanging weight
· The price per lb of finished product  comes out to  $2.95/lb + processing in both scenarios
· 1/2 a hog is approximately 90lbs hanging weight and after deboning is ~ 65lbs of finished meat and cost approximately $203
· A whole hog is approximately 180lbs hanging weight and after deboning is ~130lbs of meat and costs approximately $405

FAQ

How much freezer space do I need?
  • a good rule of thumb is 1 cubic foot of freezer space per 35lbs of cut and wrapped meat so:
    • 1/2 hog will take about 2 cubic feet
    • whole hog will take about 4 cubic feet

How long can I store pork in the freezer?
  • 6-9 months
